Graduating with an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba, Janice Mason Steeves held Clinical and School Psychology positions in Manitoba and Ontario before leaving the field to focus on painting. Further studies were completed at the Ontario College of Art and Design where she graduated with an Honours Diploma in Drawing and Painting and was the recipient of the Nora E. Vaughan Award. She is represented by galleries in Canada and the U.S. Her work is included in numerous corporate and public collections both in Canada and internationally, including among others, The Government of Ontario Art Collection; The Schulich School of Business (York University), CIBC World Markets (London), First Gulf, Intrawest Corporation, the Senvest Collection (Montreal) and Cenovus Energy (Calgary).

In addition to her studio practice, Mason Steeves teaches Abstract Painting Workshops using Cold Wax and Oil in Canada, the U.S. and Sweden. She also has an active Art Mentoring Program where she works online with students in Europe, the U.S. and Canada. She has been awarded artist residencies in Spain and Ireland.
